* Describe your first student teaching context (school setting). What school are you at, what are some of its characteristics, and what classes are you teaching, and how are classes scheduled at your school?

I am at Ponaganset Middle School. It it a relatively new school. I think it was built within the last three years. I'm currently teaching two Physical Science classes. At P.M.S we work on a rotating 7 day block schedule.

* Explain one of your "stealth" objectives that you want to accomplish with your students and why.

So far my stealth objectives have have been sneaking in without really trying to push them. My current them has been woodland survival. I personally feel that my students are at such a young age that the might have to use some of the ideas I have told them about. I would be very happy to hear a student say, "Mr. Aellig, My car broke down in the middle of winter and I used ___ that you taught me in class!"

"Opening Activity
You are lost in the woods during the middle of the winter. There is at least half a meter of snow on the ground. You have no means of shelter and are forced to sleep on the ground in the snow.

Do you think your normal winter clothing will be able to keep you warm throughout the night? Yes or no and why.

If you answered no to the above question draw a diagram of you laying on the ground in the snow and show which which way the heat flows (Your body to the ground or the ground to your body. Please use arrows to show the direction.).

If you answered yes, you still need to diagram you laying on the ground and label “no heat flow”.

Finally, you need to come up with 1 way you can use the materials found in nature to combat heat loss that would occur while sleeping on the ground."
